The DBU Baseball team was announced as the No. 3 seed at the Austin Regional and will play No. 2 seed Louisiana Tech on Friday UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin, Texas.  The Patriots are making their eight consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, becoming one of only six teams in the nation to reach the postseason each year dating back to 2014 joining the likes of Florida, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma State, and Vanderbilt.

The University of Texas is the No. 1 seed in the Austin Regional after finishing as 42-19 and tied for fifth place in the Big 12 Conference.  The Longhorns reached the Big 12 Championship game before losing to Oklahoma and boasts the No. 16 RPI in the nation.

No. 2 seed Louisiana Tech went 42-19 during the regular-season and won the Conference USA Tournament Championship on Sunday over UTSA. The Bulldogs posted a 20-10 record in league play and finished three games back of Southern Mississippi in the C-USA standings.

Air Force enters the Austin Regional as the No. 4 seed after earning the automatic bid with a win over San Jose State in the Mountain West Conference Championship. The Falcons compiled a 30-27 overall record and finished in a tied for fourth place in the Mountain West Conference standings.

DBU posted a 34-22-1 record during the regular-season and boasted the No. 23 RPI in the nation according to WarrenNolan.com.  The Patriots' resume was bolstered by a 13-8 record versus teams with an RPI ranking in the top 50.  DBU also faced a strength of schedule that was ranked as the ninth-toughest in the nation and their opponents' .613 overall winning percentage was tops in the country.

Today's announcement marks the 11th trip to the NCAA Regional in program history since DBU joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 2004 and became eligible for the postseason in 2006.
